A group of Church Minshull residents got together to meet at the Pheasant Inn in Burwardsley, to walk part of the Sandstone Trail, on Saturday.
Shaun and Liz Davies (with Milly and Muffin), Lesley and Andrew Baddelley, Kev and Lyn Penny, Dave Barrett and Jo Smith (with Rhubarb) and Kerry Bannon (with Larry), duly set off at 4:00pm, with the sun on their faces (there must have been divine intervention from somewhere)
The group headed towards the Candle factory and a 3.5 mile walk. The walk took in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, going through woods, kissing gates and stiles.
There were lots of other like minded people around, some with dogs, some with kids doing 'geo-cashing' hunts and some like our group, just enjoying the chat and the wonderful surroundings and scenery.
After a long climb upwards, passing the Peckforton covered reservoir, the group reached Bulkeley Hill and the stunning views of the Cheshire Plain below, from Peckforton Point.
From here the walk got decidedly easier (it was all down hill) and we passed some beautiful, cute cottages.
After 1 hour and 40 minutes, the group arrived back at the Pheasant Inn for a well deserved drink.
