B5074 Safety & Speed Review

In April 2016, after considerable ongoing lobbying by the Parish Council, Cheshire East Highways (CEH) undertook a route review of the B5074 between Reaseheath College and the County boundary before Darnhall.

Following the recent publication of the review, the Parish Council are continuing to lobby to ensure that the identified road improvements, especially those affecting Church Minshull, are implemented without unnecessary delay.

The objectives behind the review were to provide a consistent approach to understanding and assessing the performance of the route. The outputs aim to deliver solutions across key areas such as safety, congestion and public concerns.

Traffic data was examined to determine whether speed limits were in accordance with latest national guidance. Feedback was obtained through engagement with the appropriate Local Ward Members and Parish Councils to gain an understanding of the more localised perspective, which will be taken into consideration.
