Despite the biting cold, Church Minshullers turned out for the annual 'Carols Around the Tree' evening at St Bartholmew's church. The Cooperative Funeralcare Brass Band played all the festive favourites in three sets, starting outside around the tree and ending inside the church.
Hot mulled wine, orange juice and mince pies were the order of the evening, and very welcome they were too, as the evening temperature plummeted. In between the final two sets of carols, John Headon orated a Christmas story, that had everyone laughing, before he thanked the band for their excellent playing.
