St Bartholomews had one of the best turnouts for Carols around the Tree (CATT – couldn't fit all the words in the headline, so had to abbreviate it...editor).
The tree looked resplendent with its bright lights against the night sky and everyone was up for a good old singsong (except for the four at the back next to the tree – you know who you are) and the Co-op Brass band were superb as usual.
Inside Liz and John Headon did amazing work to refresh the many carolers, with delights of hot mulled wine, cold white wine, mince pies, crisps and nuts.
John served up his usual humorous Christmas story (did they really speak with an accent like that in Bethlehem..? ..one learns something new everyday...) and the band continued with carol after carol.
The evening was St Bartholomews way of saying thankyou for your kind support throughout the year, but a big thanks must go out to John, Liz, Chris & Sue Challoner and everyone connected with putting on such a great evening...thankyou all...
