Commemorating 100 years since the start of WW1 is a joyful thought, yet is sobering in context too. CM Vision's Vintage Afternoon Tea attracted approximately 40 people to the village hall yesterday afternoon, from the most senior, to the most junior of our community.
Organisers dressed up for the occasion to mark the event and the WI made a wonderful contribution of baked cakes, scones and biscuits, along with sandwiches, too.
Music of the day permeated the air, early film footage played in the background and the walls were festooned with WW1 enlistment posters and propaganda.
Momentos, memorabilia and medals were donated for show and games of the day were played.
Attendees made kind donations of £170.00 which will be donated equally to the charities of Help the Heroes and the Royal Legion ...thank you very much.
