Nantwich Show Entry

A report on Church Minshull's contribution to the Floral Art at Nantwich Show July 2022

Our journey began a couple of weeks ago when a group of ladies from the congregation of St Bartholomew's decided to enter the Floral Art competition at Nantwich Show. We wanted to support Judy Gratton who organises this competition. Judy has given her time and expertise to our Christmas wreath making sessions for a few years and we thought it would be good to support her at the show. We also wanted to encourage anyone who wanted to have a go to join in.

We met to consider the schedule and to practice. Richard Cluley kindly offered flowers from his beautiful garden so on Monday morning we gathered there to pick British country garden flowers. We give them a big drink overnight before meeting in church to make our arrangements.

Elizabeth Headon and Jean Jones drove cautiously down Minshull Lane with a car full of beautiful flowers to submit the entries. Then there was nothing to do but wait for show day. We hope you will agree that St Bartholomew's, Church Minshull was well represented.
