Once again it is coming round to the time of year when strange things happen in Church Minshull as the annual Madness Event takes place.
On Friday 30th August top ABBA tribute band, UK Bjorn , will play at Church Minshull Village Hall in an evening of singalong and dancealong hits from the Swedish super-group. The doors open at 7:30pm and tickets are available for £12:50 from Kerry on 01270 522144. The capacity of the hall is limited so pre-booking of tickets is strongly advised to avoid disappointment. There is of course a bar available.
* Saturday 31st August 1:30pm OPENING TIME UPDATE... *
On Saturday 31st August the main event takes place on the Badger field when there will be fun and games for all ages including the famous "whole village tug-of-war". Again food and drink will be available for purchase. This is a free event aimed primarily at the children of the village but we don't seem to be able to stop the adults taking part! The fun starts at 1:30p.m. Entry to the field is free and there are prizes for all winners.
Finally on Sunday 1st September there is a super new event — the Inaugural Mini Country Show, again on the Badger field.
There are competitions and classes for all ages ranging from fancy dress to cake making, from photography to dog classes. Again entry is free and it starts at 1p.m.
A schedule of what's happening during the Show can be obtained by clicking here. There is no cost to enter any of the classes so why not try them all?
