The village hall committee recognised Peter Barnard's long service and invaluable dedication to the Church Minshull. Peter had been secretary of the committee for 42 years and recently retired from the post.
The committee commissioned a special watercolour painting by Sylvia Twiss, of landmark buildings in Church Minshull, as a thank-you and recognition of his stoic work over the years. On presenting the painting to Peter, David Barrett — Chair of Village Hall Committee, said,
"...there is no doubt that the village hall would not be the building it is today, without Peter's dedication and resolve to improve the facilities, from which we all benefit now...".
