What a weekend! On 1 December 2017 for three days, St Bartholomew's Church was home to a breathtaking floral art display. Award-winning florists from across the region showcased 12 floral arrangements, each representing one of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. Run by Wistaston and District Flower Club in partnership with St. Bartholomew's, the event raised a phenomenal £3,000, which will be split equally between the church and the flower club. A special evening event on 1 December comprised wine, canapes and a musical treat from the Worleston Music School. On 2 December, visitors to the exhibition were serenaded with spine-tingling Christmas songs from local artist, Lucy Lockwood. The event concluded with an auction in which all the arrangements were sold to the highest bidders.
Huge thanks to all those who made the event such a terrific success, from the designers and 'back room' volunteers through to the children of St Oswald's School and the sponsors. Special thanks go to Jean Jones who dreamed-up the idea of transforming St Bartholomew's church into a floral wonderland and who worked tirelessly to make the dream into a reality.
