We all had a fabulous and enjoyable time packed into St. Bart's Church sometimes joining in with the songs.

Many villagers plus lots of people from outside the village contributed to last night's Benefit Concert for Ukraine. Organising it would have been impossible but for their cheerful hard work and dedication, much of it unseen by others and easily overlooked but still essential for an enjoyable event. This particular event achieved a number of objectives:
1. Raising money to support Refugees from the conflict in Ukraine
2. Providing a concert with a range of musical genres and styles
3. Giving an opportunity for the village and others to get together and those who wanted to perform
4. Demonstrating the commitment of the village to supporting those in need
All the musicians worked hard to deliver their best last night, and all did so without any expectation of reward; so, a big thank you to them. Playing for us tonight was "The Beezzz" a local band, "Folk Like Us" a folk band, "We are Nomad" and "The Swinging Woodpeckers Big band". Also, Eleanor Lewis deserves a special mention as a young villager new onto the singing scene. She was professional in her approach and a joy to work with. The Big Band musicians all enjoyed working with her and would happily do so again. The standing ovation from the audience showed how they felt!
Finally, a big thank you to the fee-paying public. All the hard work was made worthwhile by you turning out and supporting the performers. I, for one, was quite tired before the concert, but the tiredness evaporated as the audience arrived and provided their enthusiastic support of the various performances. I have some great memories to take away from last night so thank you everyone!
