Today was Messy Christingle. On this Candlemass Sunday, a good crowd turned out to help celebrate by making Christingles from oranges, cocktail sticks, ribbon, foil, candles and sweets. The children loved making them and the meaning behind Christingles was explained. The service by Reverend Anne included a story of a mouse called Maximus and the children enjoyed playing with a toy Maximus while sitting together in the church aisle.
When the Christingles were lit, there were smiles throughout St. Bart's and afterwards, there was a feast of pizza, crisps, cake and chocolate bars.
The collection from the Christingle Service will go to 'The Children's Society'.
