Cheshire East Council will be starting significant road works on the B5074 Nantwich Road from the Reaseheath roundabout through Worleston and up to Church Minshull. This forms part of the Highway Investment Programme.
The B5074 will be closed from 9:30am to 3:30pm during the period 25th January to 5th February.
Please see the map confirming the closed section of road and diversion plan.
Cheshire East has said that they understand that this is a key route as the B5074 and therefore this scheme has been carefully planned to minimise disruptions to both residents, businesses and members of the travelling public.
We are patching the B5074 in preparation for surface dressing treatment in 2016.
Our approach to total road enhancement will mean that whilst we're here, we will undertake maintenance activities such as sign maintenance, siding out of footpaths / edge of carriageway and green maintenance. The aim of this is to address as many highways issues along this stretch of road within the closure to minimise future visits which mean further closures and therefore disruption to residents.
The B5074 will be closed between Cross Lane at the junction of Over Road and the A51 Reaseheath roundabout to protect the safety of our workforce. The closure will be in operation between 9:30am to 3:30pm to minimise disruption to peak traffic.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A530. Traffic travelling towards Winsford is advised to use the A49. See attached map.
We understand that access to Church Minshull and Worleston may still be required. Access to properties and businesses can be arranged by our traffic marshalls. They are based at the closure points and can advise on access and egress under controlled conditions.
Access to Reaseheath College from the Reaseheath roundabout is not affected as our closure point will be located beyond the college entrance.
Transport Service Solutions have informed us that unfortunately, the number 68 bus will not run on Thursday 26 January and Thursday 4 February between 9:30am and 3:30pm. The service will operate before 9:30am and after 3:30pm as usual.
This closure does not impact on school bus services.
Please contact Routemaster buses on 0870 720 2920 for further information.
We are working to bring major, much-needed improvement to this key route for local communities and whilst we do this, our working hours are limited to 9:30am – 3:30pm each day to allow for uninterrupted journeys during the peak hours
For those that live along this road or are wishing to access businesses, access can be arranged around our works and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times
Our traffic marshalls are stationed at each closure point and are happy to help with any queries that motorists may have.
If our onsite personnel are unable to help, keep up to date with the latest developments from site via the @CECHighways twitter account and also never the time through our dedicated web page for the scheme. Any queries can also be directed to our Customer Contact Centre at 0300 123 5020.
