Join Caroline, Keith and myself on June 12th for a "gentle" 4 or 5 mile walk, where will be doing a circuit of the canals via Hurleston Junction.
The pace of the walk will be relaxed, and the route will involve mostly canal towpath, with some lane walking and field footpaths. The footpaths are currently dry and unless we have a lot of rain in the next few days, little mud is anticipated. A number of stiles must be negotiated on the longer 5 mile route, the 4 mile route has one stile to be negotiated. The wearing of walking shoes or boots is always recommended..
We will start from outside Acton Church at 1pm, and for those who wish to indulge in cake and a drink, we will be back in time to visit the Acton Church "Tea in the Tower" community cafe (a small donation towards "Church Funds" is appreciated for the drink and cake).
If you wish to join us, could you be there for 12.45 for a prompt 1pm start please. Please let us know on the day if you want to do the 4 or 5 mile walk, and we will split into two groups with Keith leading the slightly shorter walk. If arriving by car please park in the village car park
Dogs on leads are welcome but they must be able to negotiate or to be carried over the stiles?
Regards
Nick
