The church clock face is now stuck at 12 o'clock, and will be for the next 6 weeks or so.
The clock was removed today by Smith's of Derby, for much needed repairs. Contrary to expectations, the engineer decided to dismantle the clock in the clock chamber and remove it in pieces. It will be away for 6 weeks and will be returned in early December, but this time the tower hatches will be raised to haul it up the tower.
Thanks to those who turned up to see the clock removed, you may be interested in these photos.
We will notify everyone when the clock is to be reinstated-
