Listeners to Radio Stoke may have been surprised to hear our churchwarden, John Headon, being interviewed by presenter Liz Ellis at 3.30 this afternoon. Liz asked John about the village being cut off last night when Over Road, to Winsford was flooded and the bridge over Eel Brook, where it joins the River Weaver went under water. Sadly, the adjacent house, flooded last February was inundated again. John explained the road was still closed by the police, but some vehicles were going through and the water levels were now dropping. Asked what kind of village Church Minshull was, John commented on the 16th Century houses here and the excellent community spirit that had twice won awards and has carried the village through the Covid crisis and will continue to support local residents. This had been achieved by the Parish Council and parish church working together and Liz said the village sounded idyllic and wished us well for the future.
